About Corktown II Lofts - 510 King Street East, City of Toronto
The Corktown II Lofts is the third building in a two-phase offering by Streetcar Developments in Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood. Located across the road from its sister properties, this 8-storey mid-rise brings 192 units to this rapidly growing neighbourhood. Suites range in size from 448 to 1788 square feet in the main building and 10 ‘lofthouses’ that bring a live/work option to the building.
This is a stylish grey brick and glass building that stands out (though not ostentatiously) in the area. 10-foot ceilings are standard and suites feature sealed concrete flooring, sliding bedroom doors with glass inserts and European inspired kitchens with the ‘Stone and Stainless’ considerations that are now commonplace in downtown living. The building has some great amenities as well. Fully equipped fitness centre, private dining room, Rooftop lounge with bbq access and outdoor dining and a billiards room round out the offering.
The Corktown Lofts is located close to the merging of King and Queen Streets, (and the transit that lies therein) and is just a stones throw from the Corktown Common, a massive urban park currently on a mad tear to completion with the Pan Am games looming. This will be a major feature of the area, if relatively close St. Lawrence Market, Distillery, and rapidly changing Riverdale don’t satisfy your long-term speculatory needs!
What To Love: I fell in love with this building early on when I was able to see the “lofthouses” right after completion – units with external doors (and parking right in front of your door) in the back of the building. Spaces were large, open and a tad quirky, with a bedroom that was open and a half-level lower than the rest of the units. It took some creative furniture arrangement, but such is the case in most real lofts. Streetcar makes great buildings, and Corktown District Lofts is a great example of why we love what they do.
