About St. Lawrence Lofts - 81 Front Street East, City of Toronto
The St. Lawrence Lofts is a relatively small 53-unit hard loft conversion located on the south side of Front Street in Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood. Converted in 2003, this three-storey heritage building is rich in history having at one time been much closer to the edge of Lake Ontario than it is today.
Authenticity abounds here with plenty of exposed brick, ductwork and beams throughout the St Lawrence Lofts. Ranging in size from 480 to 1300 square feet, these charming suites boasts ceilings between 10 and 16 feet in height and aside from the original character they exude offer little in the way of amenity. Prices unfortunately reflect demand for the rarely offered spaces, and while the lack of parking availability may be a deal breaker for some, the convenience of such a premium location will attract others.
Transit, restaurants, cafes (the Starbucks beneath your home is just one example of many) entertainment and the most historic marketplace in the city are so close you likely won’t need a coat in the winter for the walk. And if that kind of proximity to a peameal bacon sandwich and all the cheese you can handle aren’t a deal maker for you, we suggest you leave these lofts alone!
What To Love: Raw spaces that fit beautifully with the St. Lawrence neighbourhood, St. Lawrence Market itself is only a few doors down the street, LCBO and Starbucks outside your door, plus theatre on all sides and easy Gardiner access. It doesn’t get better than this.
