About Gotham Lofts - 781 King Street West, City of Toronto

The Gotham Lofts is a rare hard loft conversion in the Niagara neighbourhood of Toronto that was home to a harness factory originally built in 1917 before housing a sewing shop for Toronto’s then thriving garment industry. Converter in 1997, the mid-rise building is home to 47 suites ranging in size from 594 to over 1500 square feet.

Lofts here are generally in very high demand. They sell quickly, and often in bidding wars where they don’t often exist in a condo market fairly rich with stock. This has much to do with the preserved detail of these lofts. Slat and beam ceilings between 9 and 12 feet meet exposed, original yellow brick. Open one and two-storey floor plans feature a variety of finishes while most of the two-storey spaces rod iron spiral staircases.

Condo fees at Gotham Lofts are not the cheapest you’ll find in the neighbourhood, but aren’t unrealistic and cover the costs of water, and the amenities that include a gym, a party room and the concierge shared with neighbouring 801 King. Hard lofts are somewhat of a rarity in this neighbourhood and as such demand quick action if you see something speaks to you!

What To Love: Gotham Lofts’ leopard print hallways are shagedelic, and hefty beams and wrought iron spiral staircases make for organic spaces.
